Mission
Promote creative expression through photography across all skill levels.
Provide education and skill‑building through workshops, critiques, and collaborative projects.
Foster community among members who share an interest in visual storytelling.
Encourage exploration of diverse photographic styles, techniques, and subjects.
Support public engagement through an online presence, exhibitions, and partnerships.
Membership
Eligibility— open to all Penn South community members, or employees.
Dues— optional; may cover equipment, printing, or event costs if needed.
Expectations— respectful participation, contribution to meetings and online forum, and adherence to club values.
Attendance— monthly meetings.
Leadership Structure
President— oversees meetings, sets agendas, coordinates events.
Vice President— supports president, manages committees, steps in as needed.
Treasurer— optional; manages funds, budgets, and purchases.
Secretary—optional; keeps minutes, manages communication, maintains membership roster.
Event/Exhibition Coordinator— organizes outings, shows, and competitions.
Leadership terms typically last one year, with elections held annually.
Meetings and Activities
Regular Meetings— monthly, include educational seminars, demos and discussion.
Workshops— lighting, composition, editing, portraiture, night photography, macro, etc.
Photo Walks—optional; local parks, towns, events, or themed outings.
Guest Speakers— professional photographers, editors, or artists.
Collaborative Projects— themed challenges, or community storytelling.
Competitions—friendly challenges engaging the club community.
Exhibitions— online gallery, annual showcase, gallery partnerships, online portfolios.
Code of Conduct
Respectful critique— focus on constructive, supportive feedback.
Welcome all perspectives, styles, and backgrounds.
Safe environment— no harassment, discrimination, or unsafe behavior during outings.
Equipment and Resources (optional)
Club-owned gear— cameras, lighting kits, backdrops (if applicable).
Resource library— books, tutorials, editing presets, or shared guides.
Software access— Lightroom, Photoshop, or free alternatives (if provided).
Studio access— rules for booking and using shared spaces.
Exhibitions and Public Engagement
Annual showcase— curated display of member work.
Community partnerships— local businesses, libraries, or festivals.
Service projects— event photography for nonprofits, historical documentation, etc.
Online presence— website, social media, or digital gallery.
Amendments and Review
Charter reviewed annually.
Amendments require majority vote of active members.
Leadership reserves right to make changes; members may submit proposals.
